A popular gathering area in Copenhagen is Nyhavn (New Harbor). The street here starts near the Kongens Nytorv and leads to the Amalienborg Palace. It is lined with small restaurants, bars and people. The view from the street boasts a picturesque waterfront enjoyed by locals and visitors. The Nyhavn also serves as the starting point for numerous canal tours and excursions. Mostly popular for its harbor view, the Nyhavn is busiest in the summer. Nyhavn has its winter patrons as well and most bars and restaurants will provide blankets for their clients who wish to dine outside despite the chilly weather.
